Arthur Rubinstein (1887 -1982), who came from Poland, no longer needs to be introduced. He was one of the most outstanding pianists of the 20th century. Despite the abundance of his recordings, there are still previously unpublished recordings, such as the ones from the WDR archives from 1963 and 1966. They are of historical significance in that Rubinstein was no longer involved in the music of the time after 1914 Germany has appeared. Even a concert in Zurich with a German radio orchestra and a German conductor was a rare event. The piano evening in Dutch Nijmegen near the German border was also primarily aimed at a German audience. This live recording from Zurich lives from the spontaneity and freshness of the Interpretation in front of an audience, without any technical problems, which you often have to put up with during concert recordings.
