Nymphidia is already the third album of the English-German-Danish ensemble Pantagruel. With fantastic ballads, dances and instrumental pieces from the Elizabethan, Pantagruel tell of fairies, nymphs and all kinds of fairy tale characters, of the exaggerated Embodiment of female archetypes by Queen Elizabeth and the bottomless dark melancholy of English metaphysicians, alchemists and poets. The result is an extremely lively and colourful portrait of a fascinating epoch. •
Through their innovative and spectacular performances, some of which are semi-staged and in historical costumes, the musicians of Pantagrueleine have gained a large fan base, which comes from the field of classical but also non classical music. Despite the uncomplicated and very emotional approach without fear of entering a threshold, the "professional audience" is not neglected either: the recordings are preceded by thorough music-historical and scientific research, and they are played exclusively on historical instruments .
