When Mozart moved to Vienna in the summer of 1781, he described his new home as the home of the piano. He soon organised his own subscription concert series and presented three new piano concertos of his own, which could be played either "with a large orchestra or with a quartet" •
The latter, a much more intimate version of the three charming works, is presented on the present CD by Robert Blocker, music dean and piano professor at Yale University, and the young Biava Quartet, which won the Naumburg Chamber Music Award and has been awarded high prizes at the Premio Borciani and other international competitions.
