For almost a quarter of a century, Antonio Florio and his colleagues from the Centro di Musica Antica Pietà de' Turchini in Naples have succeeded in breathing new life into the forgotten repertoire of the Neapolitan Baroque. The latest recording focuses on three polyphonic Christmas cantatas by the composer Cristofaro Caresana. Both the music and its performance once again exuberantly reflect the Neapolitan spirit of the Baroque.
