Already on the sixth volume of our complete recording of Bach's organ works, Gerhard Weinberger brought out the many facets of the organ built by Christoph Treutmann in 1734-37, which can be found in the collegiate church in Grauhof. Its gravitational sound character, the rich color palette of the fundamental voices and the numerous reed stops of the organ result in a sound concept that seems almost ideal for the interpretation of Johann Sebastian Bach's organ music. This time, the program chosen for Volume 13 is composed of works all taken from what is probably the most ingenious and important organ cycle of the 18th century - the "Third Part of the Clavier Übung".
