Johann Christian Bach was a master in the genre of the Sinfonia concertante. He left behind 17 works in various instrumentations alone and they are among his most imaginative. In our complete edition, we are now publishing the Symphonies concertantes Vol. 3 with particularly distinctive solo scorings
The Concertantes in E major with 2 violins, cello and flute solo (!), E flat major with 2 clarinets, bassoon, 2 horns and flute solo, which demonstrates J C Bach's love of tonal experimentation in a very special way, and the Concertante in A major with violin and cello solo.As a special treat, we have included on this CD the recently discovered Larghetto from the Flute Concerto in D major, the framing movements of which were published in Vol. I of the Wind Concertos.
