Sebastian Gottschick brings out the tonal and expressive possibilities of his chamber ensemble in seven original compositions. Gottschick himself acts not only as conductor, but also as soloist on the viola. Fascinating structures of melodic webs, sound structures and percussive elements let exciting microorganisms proliferate. Allusions to baroque forms live in these. Thus, Bach chorales sometimes resound in excitingly "foreign" surroundings. It is also astonishing to what orchestral spatial effects such a reduced chamber ensemble is capable. • (wismART)
