This is the least known of the six surviving recordings of Verdi's Requiem with Arturo Toscanini. It was made on April 26, 1948 at New York's Carnegie Hall during a benefit concert that was not broadcast by NBC and therefore not recorded. Fortunately, the photographer and Toscanini admirer Robert Hupka had recorded this event and so, thanks to MUSIC & ARTS, it can be examined on sound recording for the first time ever. An enrichment for every Toscanini collection!
