This recording of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony with Otto Klemperer and the Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam was released by Music & Arts in 1986 and was released in January 2007 as a newly remastered version. The critic Henry Fogel wrote in the American music magazine Fanfare about this recording: "The Concertgebouw Orchestra plays like obsessed, as does the choir. Everyone who listens to this recording feels the great impression that great music makes when it is at its deepest emotional and intellectual Conviction is carried out. " As an encore there is the eighth from the same concert, which was not published at the time, and the rarely performed concert aria "Ah perfido" with the soprano Gre Brouwenstijn.
