opis
Of course, I have met Peer Gynt on occasion before, especially in the concert hall. At some point, he began to read Ibsen's great verse drama, which is overwhelming in its richness and depth of thought, as it captures the essence of an entire human life. In his setting of Ibsen's Peer Gynt, which like every masterpiece is unfathomable, Edvard Grieg also made a selection, set accents, felt in depth. And now, at an age when my own life's journey has already progressed quite a bit, I am once again occupied with both works, and I have a longing to follow my own peer-gynt traces with the medium of dance. I felt the need to go beyond Ibsen's narrative surface into the spiritual abysses into which his hero is hurled. In the end, Grieg's music was not enough for this. I then came across two contemporary composers who do not compete with Grieg's music, but rather create counter-worlds that allow me to get closer to the figure of Peer Gynt Heinz Spoerli.
