opis
Despite his numerous official duties as Thomaskantor, Bach soon missed the cultivation of instrumental music in Leipzig, as he admitted that it was not easy for him to give up his position asr most famous harpsichord concertos of Johann Sebastian Bach on the harpsichord with a chamber ensemble of soloists court kapellmeister in Köthen in 1723 and thus "become a cantor from a kapellmeister". In 1729 he additionally took over the direction of the Collegium Musicum, which had been founded in 1702 by Telemann during his student days in Leipzig • The concerts of this ensemble took place "under the direction of Mr. Cantoris Bach with Mr. Gottfried Zimmermann in the Caffee-Hause on the Catharinen-Straße", as a contemporary city guide notes. In front of an audience of connoisseurs and lovers, Bach unfolded his entire spectrum as a composer of instrumental music. Above all, he was able to present his sons here as soloists of his magnificent harpsichord concertos, which he had arranged from earlier compositions for these concerts in Zimmermann's Kaffeehaus • Just like his father Bach, David Cuiller and his son Bertrand play the four most famous harpsichord concertos of Johann Sebastian Bach on the harpsichord with a chamber ensemble of soloists.
