Works with dance character or dance background are the theme of the 6th episode of this series. Especially remarkable among the recorded works is without question the Tanzsuite, which already achieved an overwhelming audience success at its premiere on 19.11.1923. Contrary to the typical fate of Bartók's earlier orchestral works, shortly after its premiere it was also performed by many Central European orchestras and is still one of his most frequently performed and most popular orchestral works today.
