Vicente Martín y Soler has a bad hand with Mozart lovers, they resent the composer's opera Una cosa rara, which ousted Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro from the repertoire after only a few performances. The master himself was less resentful in this respect; in his next opera Don Giovanni he had a melody from Una cosa rara played as table music at the villain's last meal.
