The sacred music of François Couperin, by the ensemble Les Ombres: a refined and natural vocal heritage Following their interpretation distinguished by the criticism of the unknown Apotheoses, and Nations of François Couperin, the Ombres deliver a new reading of his sacred heritage. The Lessons of Darkness or Lamentations published in 1714, testify to Couperin's attachment to the sacred, to text and to vocality. One can recognize in his instrumental music a mastery of rhythms, and support and the science of placing each note on a given text.
