Ilya Gringolts, celebrated soloist and chamber musician, master student of Itzak Perlman, likes to devote herself to contemporary or rarely performed works in addition to the large orchestra repertoire. Here the sought-after soloist presents himself together with the well-disposed Copenhagen Phil in a charming juxtaposition of two stylistically very different but nevertheless corresponding masterpieces of the violin literature of the 20th century.
Gringolts plays a violin by Giuseppe Guarneri "del Gesù", Cremona 1742-43, which was made available to him from private property.
