This is one of the first DVD recordings of Handel's Messiah, which is consistently dedicated to the latest state of historically informed performance practice. Sung in English in the original language and featuring outstanding soloists such as Hanna Herfurtner and Michael Schade as well as the Salzburg Bach Choir, this recording is musically one of the absolute best in recent years.
The grandiose backdrop of the Klosterneuburg Abbey also provides an optically outstanding stage for Handel's grandiose Bible Oratorio. An audiovisual experience in a class of its own, available on DVD and in HD also on Blu-ray Disc.
