Nakład wyprzedany, ostatnie 2 egzemplarze With Music for the Feast of Corpus Christi, the Choir of Clare College, Cambridge, continues its series of recordings for high church holidays. The compositions are based on texts by the famous church scholar Thomas Aquinas (c. 1225-1274), who was commissioned by Pope Urban IV to write the Divine Office establishing the Feast of Corpus Christi. The Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ is celebrated on the Thursday of the second week after Pentecost.
The centrepiece of the recording is the Missa Pange lingua by the great Renaissance composer Josquin Desprez. At the end of the programme is the hymn "Lo, the full, final, Sacrifice" by Gerald Finzi from 1946, commissioned by the Reverend Walter Hussey, a great friend of the arts, to whom works by the composers Benjamin Britten, Leonard Bernstein, the sculptor Henry Moore or the poet W. H. Auden can be traced.
