Although both composers lived and worked in Paris at the same time, Maurice Ravel and Alexander Scriabin never met. Probably they existed in parallel worlds to different musical worlds. The contrasting aesthetics and compositional style of the young American pianist Andrew Tyson prompted the decision to juxtapose the two composers as mirror images on his CD.
