Nakład wyprzedany, ostatnie 2 egzemplarze Mendelssohn's Paulus was a very popular oratorio in its day, but has been overshadowed by other oratorios by Bach, Handel or even Mendelssohn's own Elijah. It's a shame because this is a beautiful work. Herreweghe et al do a great job on this. It has a relaxed yet intense feel with exquisite singing Much of the work is inspired by Bach chorals, so you may find that you recognize many of the tunes. From the beginning overture I was captivated.
