In a rarely performed masterpiece by Handel, the opera "Teseo", Nicholas McGegan leads the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra and a celebrated soloist ensemble. The New York Times confirmed the performers' leading role in the genre of baroque opera. The singers, led by Dominique Labelles fervent soprano as Witch Medea and the outstanding lyrical soprano Amanda Forsythe in the title role, are wonderfully carried by the orchestra's "unbridled positive energy" (New York Times) under McGegan. The April 2013 recording was made as a live recording at the First Congregational Church in Berkeley, California.
