Peg Carrothers is not a singer. She is a librarian, mother, wife of. And yet, she has always been singing. As a child, she brilliantly completed classical singing studies. As a young girl, she skims the clubs of Minneapolis, her hometown, in the company of local musicians whose names have not yet crossed the Atlantic, Jay Epstein, Chris Bates, Adam Linz, Dean Magraw and the man who will become her husband , Bill Carrothers. She therefore participates in the projects of Bill, Armistice 1918, Playday, Sunday Morning, and in the voices that are Gone by cellist Matt Turner. Here she sings those she loves. Stephen Foster of course, but also Aerosmith, the Rolling Stones, Johnny Nash, Michel Legrand and Boe Harbison, the author of Edges of My Mind. Boe died a few years ago. He was a neighbor and friend of the Carrothers in Mass City on the northern peninsula of Michigan, across from Lake Superior. Boe was not a guitarist, but he played the guitar and wrote songs all his life.
