Long before Chopin, in the late 16th century, music from Poland seems to have been very fashionable. The Polish lutenist Michal Gondko presents here a series of compositions for his instrument from the period around 1600 which relate to Poland or were composed for the Polish court. Many of the 40 tracks on this CD are recorded for the first time.
